EMT here who was on scene today driving several people to the nearest hospitals. One patient was presumably close to a blast site (thrown from their feet, multiple shrapnel injuries), and was peppered with small puncture wounds surrounded by bruising. Buckshot/BB-sized shrapnel seems more likely given the presentation of these injuries but we really can't be sure until we get an official ballistics report or ER surgeons verify that metal bearings are being removed from patients (shattered glass is a possible alternative as well). Edits: grammar/wording

Update: Looks like nails and B.B.'s are being found in patients. http://thelede.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/04/16/live-updates-in-the-aftermath-of-the-boston-marathon-explosions/#update-from-boston-childrens-hospital

Do you have any long term side effects from the treatment of your first cancer?

Did they discuss any risks of this part of your body undergoing radiation twice?

Also, do you have a good relationship with your radiotherapy doctors?

(radonc here, feel free to hit me back with any questions you might have)

Glad to hear, yes having friendly/good staff makes a huge difference and they definitely do enjoy some good banter. Best of luck!
