Canada has a really stifling and conservative corporate culture. It's all about maintaining rigid hierarchies which often leads to punishing innovators. It's why every Canadian company that gets big off an initial great idea (Blackberry, Nortel) ends up going out of business soon after because the corporate culture stifles innovation and they can never adapt in the way the more dynamic companies based in the rest of the world can.

Michael Johnson actually lost the world's fastest man race to Donovan Bailey.

I live in Canada and can bet on the US presidential election through a provincial sports betting agency.

What I don't understand is that they give better odds for president to a bunch of people who aren't even running than to some of the main Democrat candidates. Right now they have better odds for Hillary Clinton to become president than anyone other than Trump, Warren, or Biden.

Is this an attempt to sucker people into an obviously unwinnable bet by offering odds that make it look like a strong possibility? What's going on here? I could understand if they gave it long shot odds, but not better than most actual Democratic presidential candidates.

No one in Atlantic Canada is living off seal meat. This is the dumbest thing I've ever heard, and is borderline racist. Do you think people in Eastern Canada are a bunch of savages who don't live in modern civilization? It's bad enough when people say stupid shit like this about the Inuit but about Atlantic Canadians? Come on!

You missed the point. What Chomsky says is that censorship becomes internalized and is never an explicit "kill that story! advertiser might not like it!" but more of an internal disciplinary procedure that makes writers and editors almost unconsciously self-censor.
