I'm just a husband in our situation, but your comment really tugged on the old heart strings. The hospital was thoughtful enough to take pictures of our child before we left and I thought it would be uncomfortable to have the picture of her feet that my wife framed on our table, but now I'm unbelievably grateful for that. And honestly, I don't care what anybody thinks about it.

I've had a similar experience a little further along and no cause found during the tests afterwards. It's the most painful emotional experience I've ever been through.

Anyway, my question is, were you surprised by the number of people that shared their own stories after your loss? My wife and I were pretty shocked to find out just how many people we knew have suffered loss similar to our own. Without having gone through it, I think we would have never known.

1. When I was in China I saw a dude speed by on what appeared to be just one electric motorized wheel - no pedals and no seat. Do you consider this unicycling even without the seat post and pedals?

2. Is there animosity among the different styles of riding? Like how skateboarders and rollerbladers hate each other, even though the skateboarders are clearly cooler? I guess that's a little different, but I wanted to show which side of that particular line I stand on so people might mistake me for cool.
