Hi Renée. Crises of confidence. We all have them! How did you deal with them when you were starting out?

In Joan Sutherland's biography it details an episode where she started the first phrase of Casta Diva, and had to stop and clear her throat as she couldn't sing past the mucus/catarrh/whatever (she had lifelong sinus problems). The audience found it absolutely hilarious that she had the guts to stop, do a loud throat clear, and carry on. Then again, she really could do no wrong in the eyes of her fans! :)
