No, /u/SoloGameDev13 gained an awesome line in their resume that says 4 years of experience bootstrapping their startup, bringing a project from inception through execution to multi platform launch and release. The amount of grit, perseverance, breadth of skill and ability to learn and adapt that line adds is rare and very valuable. Most of all, they had the humbleness and courage to accept the fact that the launch was not a success in the market and walk away.

Any company that sees that as equivalent to a 4 year gap is not worthy of someone like them though.

You spend 5 years working with people from Poland, you learn to spot these things. That and I can say the tongue twister about the beetle inside the bush in the village with the specific name. I just can't write it ;)
