In Bresson's movie Pickpocket, a character is keeping their work a secret from their closest friends. Themes of distrust and passion show throughout, but what I couldn't shake was my fascination with that character's resilience - even after multiple assurances from their closest friend, they wouldn't admit to a secret even when it was obviously suspected. My question from this would be, why do you think we have such dramatic tension and emotions associated with secrecy?

An answer I would predict would include the basic social instincts of us, where gossip and hierarchy determines the internalized power structures we depend on. But this is your interview and your question - I just jealously wanted to share an answer as well as a question! I highly recommend this film for a story which revolves around secrecy.
