"Defining" division by zero to result in infinity is not useful, and is misleading.

Let's say you specify that 1/0 = ∞. This is the same thing as claiming that the number "∞" satisfies the equation 1 = 0 × ∞. Then what is 2/0? Oh, just define division by zero to result in this special number ∞? Fine, but then 2/0 = ∞ implies 2 = 0 × ∞. So this special number ∞ can conveniently give you any number you like just by multiplying it by zero.

Doesn't make sense, doesn't add anything useful, and makes mistakes easier.
