What was your budget like? Did you save up A LOT of cash or was it more of shoestring?

Good planning - I wish I had started a travel-fund at an early age! I'm still happy I went and worked in S.Korea - got to see some things. Congrats on the trip, I'm sure it was amazing!

I worked as a teacher in Ontario for three years before moving east. I took a 17 000/year pay cut. Ontario teachers, I think (and I'm too lazy to research) have some of the best pay for teachers in the country...apart from going up north where you get a whole lot of bonuses and isolation pay.
