I can tell you that while 'take it easy for 2 weeks' seems to suggest you'll be in some pain that long, that was not the case for me, so please don't let any fear of pain stop you from saving a life. I had a bit of soreness where the cuts on my back work for a couple of days, and a mild backache for a couple of days after that, but nothing any worse than that.
