How did you come to make a living as a professional marijuana activist? How long have you been doing this?

I live in one of the "hotbeds" for drug cartel activity so I guess this hits close to home (the war on drugs). I don't just hear about it, I see it every day. Grenades being found on the street, kids' little league games being stopped due to gunfire from across the Rio Grande (Mexico), car chases that end up in deaths, kidnappings, home invasions, stolen vehicles.....all that because of marijuana trafficking. I can't remember a week of news reports that have gone by that DID NOT include some sort of major marijuana "bust". I hope I see at least de-criminalization in my state in my lifetime.
