Where you at? I mean, specifically what city and bar/coffee shop? My guess, The Viking in Juneau.

One time, an elderly passenger died while we were still in home port during embarkation day in Seattle. They took her body off the ship, but the family choose to stay and do the cruise.

Don't assume that ever crew member and worker knows every single thing about the ship. I worked in the photography department (videographer, making a cruise video for passengers to purchase) and was once randomly stopped by a passenger and asked what the length of the ship "from bow to stern" was. My answer of "I don't know" really shocked him.

Think of a ship like a shopping mall: just because everything is in the same building doesn't mean every store knows anything about the other stores. In fact, some departments on a ship aren't even part of the same company as the ship. So don't ask the casino what time dinner is, don't ask the salon what time the cabin stewards clean the cabins, and don't hand random crew members your empty drinks.
