I was told by Father Paul that it was something to do with our menstrual cycle and bleeding being unnatural or some other nonsense. Imagine trying to tell an 8 year old that she's a lesser human because of biology.

Thank you for the link. It's been nearly 30 years since that papal decree; I understand that it's "God's will," but it might be time for another look before the church leaders die out.

Julia was no doubt a good player and really great for representing women, but I honestly will never put her in the top players ever. She was never very aggressive on the board and there were too many dead questions. She was very fast on the buzzer and think she got lucky with a streak of some very easy games. Also, she didn't really employ a strategy on the board, which is vital to true success. There is no way she could compete with Brad, Ken, or Roger.
