We hope that by eventually open-sourcing our software and much of our hardware, we can enable loads of people to make instruments and settings for the gloves that many people will be able to enjoy. Right now they are in their infancy, and so the sounds made are only as good as the musicians who make the gestural mappings! But in time, we hope a whole ecosystem of glove creatures will evolve!

Part of the reason our glove is so fancy is that we are now using the ultra low-latency x-OSC to communicate with the gloves. It is deliciously instantaneous. You can read all about it on the x-IO page: http://www.x-io.co.uk/products/x-osc/. we of course faced many challenges with the latency issue, and we've tried bluetooth, direct USB (via cables) and x-Bee, so we've been through a lot of design iterations for the communications. Fortunately we have some brilliant engineers on our team and have partnered with some amazing external experts to address the problem. Direct pairing with the computer (via a dedicated wifi router, when needed) has been our best solution yet.
