Hi Mohammad, I'm a law student who works with IRAP and am about to get on the phone with my recently resettled client. (He's now in Kentucky). My question is directly related to that: What do you think is the most helpful thing I can do for my client now that he's resettled, short of providing him actual legal assistance again (because I am not allowed to do that lol)? Thanks! We know the area in Kentucky he's living in has an Iraqi community, we'll just have to make sure he's got people to talk to. We're hoping to stay in touch with him now that he's in the States too, but the big barrier we have is retaining a translator willing to work for free (as the translator we used before resettlement was paid for by a law firm through their pro bono program).

In any case, thanks so much for answering my question. Your story was inspiring, and I wish you all the best. I hope we can get the SIV program running the way it was promised to.

Lol I can totally understand that - our original translator was fantastic, and I wouldn't want to ask her to work for free unless she herself offered. Thanks for the suggestions! I'll have to check those out.
