After reading your answers, I feel that your situation is not as bad as the title would imply.

Judgin from your answers, you are a non-funded PhD student that teaches a lot. Your 20k are pretty much typical for PhD student salaries.

When I read the title of your post, I thought you were a PhD level adjunct. What you describe is clearly not acceptable for teaching for a PhD, but since you are a student, isn't it around the normal pay for TAs?
