So I have a question. What if the universe is not inflating in the sense that its not increasing in size but everything in it is decreasing in size?

Kind of like you take a balloon. And there are small balls inside it at equidistance. Now they all shrink along with the forces likes gravity and the nuclear forces and even atoms and everything. Its all shrinking so the distance between them all is constantly increasing at an accelerated rate.

If such happens would it be possible to see the shrinkage as we will be a part of it?
