Outside of maybe the faang companies, how often have you seen any relevance between the algorithm problems on a technical interview and the actual day-to-day job being interviewed for?

And if it's not often, what would be a better method for companies to interview prospective developers?

Well, one of the most threatening. There are lots of them. But you're right, he's the only one actively trying to address it.

While his candidacy is a long shot, if someone else wins, I really hope they bring him on board as an advisor to run a committee to explore how we can address it.

Living in the 50's after ww2, where everything was going to be nuclear this and futuristic that, what future technology were you most looking forward to but never panned out?

And what came out of nowhere that blew your mind but no one saw coming (aside from the internet)?

It's not bad advice. It's just not complete advice. It is, however, a simple and easy thing that anybody can do and is safer than doing nothing.

There are, obviously, much more comprehensive approaches, but those are often very complicated and require a significant amount of knowledge that most people don't have, or have the time to learn.

So don't tell people that using a VPN is bad advice. That makes them less likely to do anything. Tell them that a VPN is a step in the right direction, but explain some of what the limitations are so they make less assumptions.
