That's not true. Someone has to be able to change the records. Immutability has nothing to do with whether the record can be changed by a single source or not. It has to do with the inability to change past records. It sounds like you haven't considered that land is owned by the government who issues the deeds. And if they want it back they can take it, blockchain or not.

How much energy do you believe a company would need to burn to secure their internal, proof-of-work blockchain to give it those immutable, secure properties you think are important?

I don't believe that smart people know something by virtue of being smart. How can they know something with no experience in the thing they are discussing. Can you please define what a blockchain is before I consider shelling out any money for your book?
