Assuming that there have been people fired in the duration of your time in this role, what is the most common cause for dismissal?

Are there any times of calls you receive most frequently? I mean, obviously they're generally emergencies.. hoping that question made sense...

Not boring at all :) I would never have thought pocket dials! I remember when I was little, my friends and I were inspired to constantly dial "911" after watching the Little Rascals. ("What's the number for 9-1-1?") Of course, being Australian, this did absolutely nothing. Very disappointing.

Ah. The reason I asked is because I work in insurance and used to be in the call centre, and if someone shows suicidal intent we have to keep them on the line while somebody else calls 000... someone once got fired for neglecting to do this so I was curious as to whether there was any form of gross inaction leading to employment termination. Question - resolved! :D

Hi Scott,

I watched you welcome Tony Abbott to WA with great interest, and then overwhelming enthusiasm. So firstly, I would like to express to you how elated I was to hear it - so seldom is there a genuine voice speaking in the best interests of the average Australian, and so rarely is there a member of the Australian government that makes me truly proud to be a citizen of this great country. Thank you for your impassioned words and the conviction with which they were delivered.

My question is this: You mention the Australian public and their sway toward the Greens party. It has been my experience that a lot of Australians don't actually understand the voting/election process, nor do they have real comprehension on how certain policies or the like will impact them (and it's not always helpful, I guess, when this information isn't necessarily spelled out or is packaged in seemingly palatable ways.)

How do you feel a process of educating the public on what their votes mean and the manner in which they matter could take place? Do you feel that this general ignorance is sometimes taken advantage of when communicating change or proposed change?

Apologies if this came across somewhat incoherent, but it's too late for coffee and my brain is about to retire for the evening :)

Thank you!

Hi Frank, I saw an article where, if I recall correctly (this was quite some time ago), you were expressing criticism for secret sharing apps such as Whisper. What was your reasoning for this? And do you feel that the ability to air secrets in this manner without an intermediary akin to how you manage PostSecret can be dangerous, or leave the person submitting more vulnerable than they might be otherwise?
