What's it been like playing an Irishman in early 20th century England, as an Irishman filming in early 21st century England? How much or how little have things changed in Anglo-Irish relations on a personal level?

Between the 20th and 21st century? I ask because my grandparents were servants of Lord Castletown in the early 20th century, until they emigrated to the US. I'm following the storyline about Tom Branson mulling over going to Boston with great interest.
