What can be done about Bitcoin addresses? My grandparents will never figure out how to send me money if they have to send to 1gdj4n4...what will get less techy people to use Bitcoin?

You're proving my point. The point is it's not the real cost of a transaction on the network.

If today there was suddenly 200,000 transactions, the "cost per transaction" would be cut in half. Not a good stat.
