Is there any chance that news of promising geoengineering techniques might encourage the public to do less towards climate change? Obviously the answer is to use it in combination with all the other things being done, but some people will use any excuse they can to avoid change.

Generally from a business standpoint its not a good idea to say your stuffs sold out unless it is. The exception might be in products that you don't intend to sell but want to show off your work and maybe make your business look more successful than it might be. This is mostly for custom, one-of-a-kind crafts, paintings, and stuff like that.

This isn't that case with balloons with print on them. If he has them available hes going to try and sell them. There is absolutely no benefit to withholding sales.
