/u/AskEnglishHeritage is obviously going to lean in the direction of respectably authoritative sources, but I really enjoyed 'Stonehenge' by Bernard Cornwell (the author of the Sharpe books and the recently televised Saxon / Last Kingdom series), which is an imagined novelisation of what it might have been like when it was built, with Mr Cornwell's usual attention to plausible historical detail.
