Hey Chris - I'm a big fan of 20XX, have it on PC and got it for Switch today as well. Congrats on console launch today! Quick question - on PC it's possible to remap controller buttons around, will this feature eventually make it's way over to Switch?

What's next for Batterystaple Games after 20XX? Also, is Batterystaple Games hiring software developers by chance?

I don't know how much of their own personal money the developers have put into the game, but the game had a kickstarter in 2014 that raised $20,551 out of a goal of $20,000. I'd say they've done pretty well with their budget, all things considered.

That's alright - the Switch port is pretty solid from what I can tell! Great job!

I've played the game for a bit, and I would personally say it's a little less forgiving than a traditional MMX game. It's intended to be harder as part of the appeal of the game I think - it has rogue-like elements, and dying a lot and playing more runs encourages having different setups as you play the game more.

Specifically, you don't have multiple lives - once you die you don't come back at the start of a level. You start with a low amount of health, and you don't get healed between levels, so if you are left with 2 health after a boss, you start the next level with only 2 health. That said, the levels are designed in a way that if you're careful (and good), you could get through without getting hit at all, though it's not easy to do.
