How hard was it to get a job at NASA in the 50's compared to today?

What's your take on special access projects under the DoD that operate outside of the scope of Congress and the president?

As someone who has been taken from their home in the night myself, how often do people recover psychologically ? Ever since I've been plagued with insomnia and anxiety that it will happen again. I also worry about having children because it seems common they may be taken at some point as well.
