How can your research be used to improve prothetic limbs so that users can achieve complex movements with their thoughts?

Currently, the most advanced prostheses use electrodes to pick up on electrical impulses from nerves in the remainder of a limb. This allows users to reproduce certain gross motor movements (e.g., wrist extension will trigger finger flexion and vice versa), but leaves much to be desired when it comes to fine motor control.

How do we more seamlessly integrate prostheses and people?
