3.5 years ago I was driving to work on a Friday morning and was fully stopped at a light. The next thing I knew was a dodge 1500 t boning my drivers side 1989 mazda. The impact crumpled my left leg (my femur looked like an accordion) and the left side of my face was crushed. When the fire department arrived they had to cut the roof off of my cae in order to get me out. In the ambulace, they put my leg in what appeared to be a medieval torture device, stretching it back into a familiar shape. I was told that if I could ever walk again I would have a "cartoonish pimp limp" for the rest of my life. I had to wait in the hospital for 5 days feeling a bone in my eye socket pressing my eye until I could get the surgery due to how tramatic inserting the rod that is now my femur was. I am now completely healed and do not walk with a limp most of the time. I do have days where my hip and leg as well as the plates in my face and jaw cause a lot of pain. I am happy to be a survivor, and the way my femur was shattered baffled all of my doctors as to how I didnt rupture a main artery. I feel very lucky that it was not worse
