what are your thoughts on sexual orientation being a quasi suspect class? Do you think it will eventually be suspect?

Not sure how to ask this, but what's your equipment like? Do you plan on getting a sex change?

What is the best way to balance freedom with security? Also, a question I ask a lot - if what the NSA is currently doing has saved one innocent American from death, is it worth it?

You are not likely to get a criminal defense attorney to elaborate much on stuff like this. Their answer is typically (in the Western world, anyway) something similar to "The constitution says everyone deserves a vigorous defense, and it's my job to ensure the state jumps through every hoop that is required by law before they take someone's liberty."

Some criminal defense attorneys don't want to know if their client did it or not. This allows them to put on defenses that would otherwise be unethical/illegal and against the code of ethics (a code that governs the behavior of lawyers).

Keep in mind that the attorney/client privilege (especially in criminal matters) is taken VERY, VERY seriously.

Practically, though, plenty of them know if their client really did what they're being charged with. It doesn't change the fact they will attempt to get the best possible deal for their client, whether that's a plea-bargain or a not-guilty verdict (notice how it's not called an 'innocent' verdict).
