I'm sorry, but this seems like a recipe for disaster. All it will take is one major accident because some driver is digging for a bag of Doritos and runs a pedestrian over or drifts lanes, and you're getting sued into the ground. I like the idea, but the drivers shouldn't be doing anything other than paying attention to the road. If you think they're only going to go for the food when they pull over to the side of the road, I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.

Edit: Also, the drivers have to look at a text message on their phone to know when it's bought? Another time to get in an accident!

Also, *pedestrian not passenger.

For sure, and good job on being safe. But there will be someone -- and my guess is, more than one someone -- who won't be nearly as safe. I've had Uber drivers look at their phone and nearly get in accidents.

I'm sure you guys are taking steps, but ultimately you're relying on drivers -- who don't need any sort of extra training or licensing to be in the position they're in -- prioritizing safety over speed and profit in 100% of cases. Because you only need one or two to screw up to ruin your whole business, not to mention kill somebody.

Full disclosure -- I'm the son of a car accident attorney, so I've seen plenty of nasty car accidents caused by minor things. But to me, this screams liability.

This is especially interesting, as someone born in 1988 and thus containing no memories pre-1992/93, I didn't realize that Super Soakers were BRAND NEW. I assumed they were one of those things that had been around for years. TIL.

How were you perceived by people you met? Did you get the feeling they automatically assumed there was something "wrong" with you?
