Yup. Or what of Hitler was accepted into the art school he applied to?

Seriously he could have wanted to be an artist and only because that door appeared closed, had to find a new career and place for himself.

Or that Russian sub guy in the Cuban Missile Crisis refusing to fire the nuclear torpedos when they lost comms with High Command. Most other naval officers, the vast majority, would have fired the missiles beginning the end of the world in nuclear fire. But the right guy was on the right sub at the right time to save the world, no exaggeration needed.

Yup the terrorists won, when all Americans lost their Constitutional rights with the PATROIT act.

Osama was wildly successful and would not even care he was killed a decade later after accomplishing his goals successfully. He died knowing he was going to paradise (in his mind.)

All the bombing of innocents over the last 20 years have strengthened the resolve of ‘the terrorists’ and created entire generations of new terrorists who hate America all the more for seeing their countries, lively hood and for some, families killed by the American war machine.

You not defeat terror with more terror. But that was never the goal, that was always just the excuse enabling American power to do as it wants, such as repealing Constitutional protections with the PATRIOT act.

Kids probably won’t believe it, but once upon a time in America the government could not legally surveil you without cause, could not take your money and assets in civilian forfeiture, or imprison someone without a trial indefinitely in black sites, or even make laws in secret to only be acknowledged in secret courts.

The terrorists won.

Without Remorse was so good. Read that when I was 17 and got me hooked on Clancy for a stretch.

Yes that is the official story, straight out of wikipedia.

One of the attackers was identified apparently by a passport of him found: “ One [passport] belonged to a hijacker on American Airlines flight 11. This is the passport of Satam al Suqami. A passerby picked it up and gave it to a NYPD detective shortly before the World Trade Center towers collapsed.” — According to testimony by Susan Ginsberg, a staff member of the National Commission on Terrorist attacks upon the United States, in the January 26, 2004 Public Hearing.

This was what was done with the T Squarr protest. It makes brutal sense. It’s easier to convince your soldiers that they are putting down evil rebelsfrom other provinces than it is to incite police violence against your neighbors who grew up in the same town.
