Have you ever encountered a situation or heard of one where someone you knew "went to the mountains"? AKA the prison camps, and how much, if ever, are they spoken about by North Koreans?

I have a few questions.

  1. Are the reports of widespread meth-amphetamine addiction true?
  2. Do you think that aid should be cut off completely to the country until the regime abandons Nuclear Weapons development and fixes human rights abuses?
  3. I've always understood that it was near impossible to go to, even just to sight-see Pyongyang because of not having freedom of movement. How do people think a regime is so great when they aren't even allowed to just travel in their own country? I guess what I'm asking is what reasons are given for why its best for people to stay in their hometown?

Sorry if that was too much, but thank you in advance for answering. Good luck to you.

I'm not trying to compare my situation with yours, just wanted to give a little addon. Where I was locked up you got a razor a week. Didn't turn the used one in? You don't get a new one.

Problem is, short-timers will let that razor go for a few spoons of coffee, or whatever it was they had to barter. Then you end up with a blade melted into a handle.

Seriously, I wish you so much happiness. I know what it's like to look down at an application and say to myself "Shit! Criminal Record History!"
