Well I would assume he doesn't. He doesnt use a computer at home. EVER.

That just means he's really dedicated to nobody finding out.

The erectile dysfuction pills are also a good cover - this guy is brilliant! I can see why he is so successful.

It's not the "primary" data you need to worry about. It's the conclusions drawn from it that you might not be so comfortable with.

Things like detecting when you're expecting a baby, going through a divorce or losing your job can all be gleaned from your online activity. We don't look for particular things, we look at patterns. And when your pattern of usage matches 90% of all user confirmed to have undergone some life event, we assume you are too (with a high degree of accuracy).

And when you are undergoing traumatic life events, you are vulnerable to all kinds of suggestion/marketing.

Of course, that's if the entire analytics industry was just about selling you stuff you don't need/want. Sometimes, it's about making your online experience better, so you buy stuff you may not need/want.

Weev is a retarded troll script kiddie neckbeard that deserves jail.

Yeah, but not for this.

EDIT: Did he sell the aggregated data? That would change my opinion slightly.

I'm not 100% certain, but I suspect that finding other peoples (obviously) personal data on a server and then collating and selling it like that could be construed as having different intent than simply finding it and reporting it.

Maybe a lawyer can chime in.
