With all due respect, the phrase “has always been done” implies nothing other than your reluctance to change, it doesn’t give their voluntary status any more value. People who want to make a difference also deserve respectable compensation and that wasn’t evident from any of the interviews with your staff.

Regardless of all the bizarre accusations pitted against you, not paying a wage, let alone a living one, to your staff is a real one worth interrogating.

I'd only just read Into The Wild when I saw a trailer for Everest, and wondered if the same author's book was the source for that! Is it the same group or just coincidence they were both on the mountain at the same time?

That's a lot of people, but I guess it's a popular mountain to climb, of course there are so many up there! Cheers for the detail, have you read about it much?

And I was aware they were separate, it was when I finished Into The Wild that I saw Into Thin Air advertised at the back of it. I was amazed that the year that Into The Wild was published was 1996, the same time Krakauer was in that disaster area.

Captain Esthar (sic?) Goes To Heaven was excellent, had me hooked to get through it, even with this slow-build of tension. Subnormality comix caught me at a time where I was craving more depth and detail from the webcomics I was reading, in particular I remember loving the one that finishes with skeletons in the see no evil/hear no evil/speak no evil poses, and of the (relatively) more recent comix, the real long one about finding imperfections and falling into alternate universes was brilliant too.

I haven't watched peoplewatching yet, but looking forward to giving it a go. Keep it up Winston. :)
