This shouldn't need asking, but .....

There is a conspiracy theory that all politicians and all world leaders are secretly lizard-people from outer space who disguise themselves as humans. Yes. I know. Its a crackpot theory, but what else would you expect from conspiracy theory?

The thing is, Donald Rumsfeld was once asked in an interview if he was one of the lizard people and he refused to answer the question. Likewise, 6 months ago here on reddit, Robert Reich was asked if he was one of the lizard people and he also avoided giving a direct answer.

Can you put the conspiracy theories to rest once and for all? Can you clearly and unambiguously state for the record that you are not one of the lizard people from outer space?

Something tells me I may regret asking this but .....

Several conspiracy theories state that all major governments are secretly controlled by a sect of lizard people from outer space who disguise themselves as human. It is also claimed that if you ever ask one of the lizard people about this, they are biologically incapable of lying so they have to give a non-answer style answer.

Yeah. Bonkers I know. That's how conspiracy theories go. But earlier this year Donald Rumsfeld was asked if he was one of the lizard people and he refused to answer the question.

So could you please put the conspiracy theories to rest once and for all? Can you clearly and unambiguously state for the record that you are not one of the lizard people from outer space?

This shouldn't need to be asked, but .....

There is a conspiracy theory that claims all world governments are controlled by a secret group of lizard people from outer space who disguise themselves as humans.

Yes, its an idiotic theory. However, last year Donald Rumsfeld was asked if he was one of the lizard people and avoided the question. A few months ago in another reddit AMA, I asked Robert Reich the same question and likewise the question was avoided.

Can we put this to rest once and for all? Can you clearly and unambiguously state for the record that you are not one of the lizard people from outer space?

and I'm sure that every last one of them would be absolutely disgusted and horrified by what you describe.

Background: I have been active in the BDSM community since I was in my 20s. I own and run a BDSM business and have taught educational workshops at conventions/retreats from new york to California and everywhere in between.

So now to my point. It is not as bad now as it had been in decades past, but there is a non-insignificant percentage of people in the BDSM scene who not only wouldn't condemn this, but instead would condemn anyone not willing to go along with the idea that this is what ~true~ BDSM is all about.

In the gay community, its long been known that there is an issue with codependency and domestic abuse. Gay people in unhealthy relationships are reluctant to go find outside help because they dont want to have to come out of the closet. In the kink scene the problem is doubly compounded with atatudes like "who are you to judge" and "what they do may seem extreme, but its just a difrent lifestyle choice" and "your kink is not my kink but your kink is ok".

The very first BDSM organization I was actively a part of I had expressed a few concerns about another couple in the group where she had abandoned her husband and kids to go live as a 24/7 slave to one of the guys in the group. When I questioned this setup the person who organized it took me aside and told me I wasn't welcomed back until I could be more "open minded".

Ya want to know how people in the BDSM community think? Ask your fellow perverts their opinion of the Glenn Marcus court case. Woman meets a guy online who promises her a TRUE 24/7 slave experience. She sells her house and gives all the money to her new master. Sells all her possessions but for one set of clothes and her car and gives all the money to her new master. Drives cross country to go live with him as his ful time slave. When she gets there she sells her car giving all the money to her new master and burns her last set of clothes. He burns his initials into her thigh (using a coat hanger he had heated up over the stove) and carves the word slave into her stomach. She then runs a website braging and looking down her nose at everyone else because she had the guts to do bdsm "for real". A few years later she finaly wakes up to what is going on (reports conflict but some news says that the final straw was when Glenn tried to recrute the womans sister to come be a slave as well) and she leaves. Glenn posts a notice on the website offering a reward for information about her location so he could "get his property back". She eventually goes to the FBI because she wants the pictures from the website taken down. ..... Of the people in the scene I have talked about this with, opinion is split about 50/50. Half saying Glenn was actualy doing codependency and just masking his actions by claiming "Its ok cause its BDSM" and the other half claiming that what Glenn did was the trueist form of M/s out there and that the woman was just a jilted bitter ex who didn't have the strength of will to do BDSM "for real" so sought out revenge on Glenn.

But as I said, it used to be worse. Back in the mid 90s I remember that every newbie was directed to Glenn Marcuss website so they could read all about what real bdsm was truely all about. I would read it and everything on it reminded me of a religious cult. I was the only person I knew at all who didnt have high words of praise for its content. Today, the people willing to condone it are about 50/50.

The kinds of actions from the OP disturb me as well. But I wouldent go as far as to say that everyone in the BDSM scene would be disturbed as well. Heck, its a rare happening but I have on more than one occasion talked with someone else in the scene who comes to the defense of Armin Meiwes because what he did was consensual and in their mind ANYTHING that is consensual ought to be ok.

tl;dr Im absolutely disgusted also. But I dont think that every last person in the BDSM scene would be disgusted.

Even within the USA it wasn't the first. Arguably, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz in I Love Lucy was the first interracial kiss on american television.

Heck, it isn't even the first interracial kiss on Star Trek. Shatners on screen kisses with France Nuyen and Barbara Luna both happened before the famous one with Nichelle Nichols.

But what if you define interracial as only being between black and white? Still not first. That would be Sammy Davis, Jr. and Nancy Sinatra on "Movin' With Nancy" in 1967. Here it is

This is just one of those things like Charles Lindbergh being the "first" to fly across the Atlantic or Thomas Edison inventing the "first" light bulb that everyone just knows to be true but isn't no matter how you define the terms.
