Did they love you long time?

I'll probably be downvoted for this, but I promise I don't mean to come off as rude. If you had killed anyone in combat, how does it feel, especially the first time? I can't imagine what thatd be like.

Thank you for your response. I had an uncle who served in Vietnam who passed away last summer. He was there from '68-'69, and shared some incredible stories with me, but nothing of his own experiences with killing. I never felt id be comfortable to ask him, knowing the stress he dealt with when he got back.

How do you handle this emotionally? I always feel very sorry for people missing limbs, but they are usually just "eh" about it, in my experience. Im 17 and had shingles last summer, and I had it on my head. It was on my eye, and there was a good chance id lose my eye. I had to start wearing an eye patch, and within a few days I didn't care, I thought it looked kinda badass. So I guess what im asking, are you pretty sad about this, or are you indifferent?

Thank you for your response. I ended up lucky, the shingles were gone in two weeks and my eye fully recovered. Also, I appreciate your service and the things you and your comrades face for us, whether combat or not.
