Most of our dolphins are born into the program, but we do get some from other faculties or rehab animals that can't be released. They definitely have their friends they like hanging out with and some don't really like each other for whatever reasons, just like people.

They all do like learning new things usually because it stimulates their brains (and they get lots of fish). They're very intelligent, so it's kind of like a puzzle or problem solving from both the human and the animal's perspective to figure out how to communicate what we want. They can get frustrated though if it's not going well, and sometimes they're just not in the mood which is also fine.

All our sessions are voluntary, so if they're not feeling it and won't come up to you or just keep swimming away, then the session isn't gonna happen. You can't really force an animal to participate in training if they don't want to.
