This fucking piece of shit started swearing at me when I told her she had to be in the pool with her kids. She was reading a book and told me she was watching her kids and that I was singling her out. I guess I was, because she wasn't watching fucking kids. If you're reading this, fuck you bitch. Watch your damn kids. I've seen teenagers drown in water shallower than when her kids were. We kicked her out but the morons in charge never found and didn't write her up as she was leaving.

We are legally responsible for everyone's safety while we are on duty. We have to sit in hot humid areas with too much sun and tell the same people over and over again to not do an unsafe behavior. Prevention is key to safety and health. Once that first barrier is broken there isn't too terribly much we or emts can do. We don't want people to drown or get concussions. Having to jump on the water or apply first aid that's more than an ice pack is a worst care scenario.

TL;DR We definitely are dicks, but we're trying to be responsible dicks.

My pool requires us to watch a lap pool with lessons, lap swim, and open swim by ourselves for an hour or two at a time while monitoring a hot tub directly behind the stand . It's ridiculous.
