A DDG user here. Do you ever think the name might make people pause, think Duck - Duck - Go - and take you less seriously?

1. When you first signed up, how was the interview process like?
2. Do you get paid based on a block of time (5 minutes $x, a second over it, you get $2x) or can you choose per-second? Can you pre-screen your callers if you don't like someone?
3. Do you use a mental script?
4. I am unable to visualize what goes on in a conversation. Like someone else asked, can you reconstruct a sample minute long conversation. It doesn't need to be an actual client call to give us the idea.

This comes across as nice and odd (in a good way) to me.

If you forget society's perception of the industry for a minute, you're doing or talking about your job and experience. As an pretty bad analogy, it would be odd if a automobile dealer said "every time the customer compliments me, it is like a ...(embarrassed)".

On the other hand, it is also nice to know the personal touch. As you see I'm conflicted.

Hey Sophie, thanks for doing this. Two questions:

1. How can I, as the average joe, protect myself and others around me for both inauthentic (e.g. your “cats are adorable” point) and misinformation (e.g. smoking is great)?
2. What is your take on the information that gets passed around in more private circles such as whatsapp groups?
