I always assumed it was because they came in a little wallet like this - and it flipped open like an Oyster.

I used to work in care too - forensic mental health. Loved the job, hated the abominably shitty wages.

I thought about going back into care, but with so many people looking for work the wages are even worse than before. Perfect example - care home along the road from me was advertising for a senior, 12hr shifts, sleep in 3 nights per week, needed nvq 3 and meds cert, etc - 15p above minimum wage! No shift bonus & sleep in payment was only £20!

Meanwhile the guy who owns the home drives round in a brand new range rover that he replaces every 2 years.

How wide if the field of vision on the eSight?

I recently (4 months) had a stroke which took all the sight on my left side - homonymous hemianopsia, I have no peripheral vision on that side at all, as well as loads of little 'worm holes' as I call them, in my remaining vision. and fuzzyness at the top/right.

Does it give you a wide range of vision, or is it a narrow but clear range?

Also, can they be used in the dark? At low light levels - i'm almost completely blind and have to be guided.

I use a walking stick due to other health reasons, so using a guide cane at the same time is a pain in the ass, especially if I need to carry something at the same time.

It's great that this works for you!

When I went from NVQ 2 to NVQ 3, I was granted the amazing amount of 10p/hr pay raise!

The home was so tight, they kept putting off training & qualifications as long as possible so I eventually paid for my own NVQ course.

The manager wanted me to be the first aider for the home, keep first aid boxes stocked up etc. She soon regretted it though, as I dumped the entire contents of every first aid box because they were either not sterile, past date or damaged. Ended up costing almost £300 in replacement supplies as she was daft enough to let me take care of ordering because she was too lazy to do it herself.

She wasn't too happy. lol

Thanks for the reply.

I'm in the UK so I'm not sure if I can even get it over here, but I think I'll contact them anyways.
