Was there a sense of denial when it was first suggested that you may have albinism? You? Your parents? I ask because my sister was in denial for many years regarding my niece's albinism. She even accused the very dark Indian ophthalmologist of telling every white person that they are albino.

My niece has an IEP in place at school to be sure that she can get a seat at the front of class as well as first period P.E. for less direct sun exposure and so that she can apply sunscreen at home rather than require extra time to apply it later in the day. Do you have any other suggestions for accommodations she may need to ensure that her albinism does not affect her academic success?

Can't they lose their passes for that? It's been years since I was an annual passholder, but I vaguely remember it was stated that the privilege could be revoked at anytime with no refund for abuse.
