Wow. I used to get the same look and type of hives as you. They looked like cheetah spots! I had them at least once a week for about 2 years after moving from LA to Chicago. Had them in Chicago, then moved to Korea and never had them again. The weird thing is that I had lived in Chicago for most of my life before and never had them. Might be local environmentally affected?
