(Not OP) The large intestine is what's responsible for a lot of water absorption, so people with an ileostomy will have much softer and/or liquid stools vs. a colostomy... bag has to be emptied several times a day as well, but it's nothing special, just open the bottom of it over the toilet, let stuff fall out, wipe the bottom of the bag clean, reseal. (Colostomy bags don't usually open at the bottom, ileostomy bags do - you can see in the pictures some velcro straps that are used to keep the bottom folded shut)

Yep. Been hospitalized several times for being too dehydrated
