Good. But this is one example. I was adopted once at a young age, and it didnt turn out so good. My then adoptive parents didnt know how to cope with us.. (4 &6 year olds.. Not bad kids, just unhappy) and in their frustration became physically and emotionally abusive and eventually sent us back into the foster system. I'm not trying to discourage you. Just prepare yourself, i guess. .

I was adopted as an 'older' kid.. Around 10. Not a teenager, but perfectly aware of what was going on. I had memories and fears.. -Baggage. Its nice to hear of a couple who wants to adopt and i encourage you. Just be prepared that not every kid will immediately embrace such a new situation with yet another family. So prepare for that and be PATIENT. Best wishes.

I mixed up how old we were at the time of adoption. I was taken out of my home with my mother at age 4 and adopted by this family around 8. My older sister stayed for about a year or so and was sent back. I stayed for another year on my own but things went south for me without my sister. Finally i was returned and put back into the system. After all this my grandma adopted my older sister and i. So she raised me after that.
