I'd say that veteran shooters just need to learn how to read a person. If someone is clumsy, absentminded and downright ignorant of range safety rules, chances are I'd tell that person to go away and come back when they're ready to take things seriously. On the other hand if the person is focused, follows the safety rules and generally comes across as someone willing to learn, I'd be much more flexible. It's no secret that some people have no business handling firearms no matter what the constitution or laws of the land say.

How would you comment the recent scandal involving several MiG 21 planes that belong to Croatia, that were returned with mismatching numbers indicating that they were completely different aircraft assembled from leftover parts?

Hey Donut, thanks for the AMA! As a SWAT team member, how do you generally deal with overpenetration? You guys are slinging carbines in what are essentially plywood homes. I always wondered what you choose in terms of ammo. Hope this doesn't fall under opsec. Stay safe.
EDIT: Oh, and is that saying 'tighter pants = tighter groups' hold any truth? We all know you're one sexy mofo.

All I am saying is that such people shouldn't be left unattended with loaded firearms. I don't expect an idiot to wise up in a moment but I definitely expect an experience instructor to recognize an idiot on a hot range.

You said you were walking back to your car when you got shot. Could you elaborate on how it all went down?
Additionally, why was your newbie, first time shooter friend finger fucking a loaded handgun without your supervision? He definitely is at fault for disregarding your previous safety instructions and being careless, but I feel that you failed a little as the quasi RO/instructor in this instance.
