Yep absolutely. Totally agree that there's nothing wrong with complex controls... so long as that's what the concept actually demands. A game can't be a game without some kind of a challenge, ie. barrier, when it becomes an issue is when the barriers are totally unnecessary, losing out on players for no good reason. Obviously no good for either players or developers. The barriers are usually dead easy to avoid though and no developer intentionally wants to exclude players, it's just awareness of what the issues are.

I'd completely disagree that you aren't the best at this, as all it is is removing barriers to fun, which sounds pretty familiar right? If you want to learn more about what other kinds of barriers there are it might be worth having a look here: http://www.gameaccessibilityguidelines.com

Hope I'm not too late! Have you thought about gamers with disabilities in any of your work? I'd be interested in hearing about anything at all, from colorblindness upwards
