I've been to Simferopol, Sevastopol, and Odessa many times over the last dozen years. Whenever i'm there , I've noticed that even amongst the mostly ethnic Russian population in the Crimea, there is a lot less support and Russian nationalism amongst the young. Have you looked at the demographics of Russian nationalism? As I recall, there was a lot of support amongst pensioners, but not so much in those under 30.
The Tatars as I recall were rabidly anti-Russian, are they worried about being given the boot again?
What's the status of the UKR Navy ships in Sevastopol?
