Are there little cafes for people to relax and read books or small restaurants frequented by young people? My impression of Dubai is that's it's either businesses or markets. Are there a lot of young people and a sense of some sort of counter culture?

What role, if any, do you believe genetically modified crops have on environmental adaptation of 'pest' species and what can be said about the long term impact of GMO plant strains on adaptation/proliferation/eradication of not only the target species, but others connected via the 'local' food chain, from your research?

Not specifically a EA question but general question about flying so much - do you often experience turbulence? Are you every worried that anything may happen to the plane? Any plane related emergencies other than unruly guests?
