Bernie Sanders did worse this election than he did in 2016. Why have you guys had so much trouble expanding your support, especially among the working class? Do you think there are elements of your platform or approach that are just offputting to most of the electorate?

Dont you think that prominent voices on the left openly declaring their refusal to vote for biden hurts that effort? If “centrist” democrats know they won’t get the votes of the far left regardless, then why wouldn’t they court the center instead? Wouldn’t supporting him give the left more leverage since the party would want to keep that support in future elections should he win?

Then there needs to be an actual compromise, and not a refusal or guarantee either way. By refusing to back him now, a victory in November means the left can be dismissed without fear of losing in 2024. He will have known he won without their support, and therefore the party can win again without them.
