This may have something to do with reddits voting system. I don't know the details but I think there is a system in place where a robot does some sort of random up/down voting. I forget what the function or purpose is exactly

ohhhh dude if she is blaming you, and will not publicly repudiate her accusations then she is too far gone mentally. I'm sorry but you have to find a way to walk away. I know this is just the internet and I don't have all of the information but anyone who is not willing to admit lies, admit mistakes is not willing to change. She will do it again, next time you might go to jail. Forgive me but I am imagining that your children are watching and learning how relationships work; they will pattern their relationship with their partners after yours. You have to break that pattern

A suicide attempt is almost always the result of a bad moment. These moments are often fairly short. Any delay can go a great way towards reducing suicide. In Canada our storage laws are different than in the US, so different that it would probably never be accepted in the US and although we have slightly lower firearms ownership my suspicion is (I have not looked at studies) that our suicide rates are even lower.
Our laws require that firearms be locked when not in use, handguns must be in a safe, and the firearms must not be stored with easy access to ammunition. The ammunition does not actually have to be locked; it just can't be stored in the firearm or right next to it.
So if you have to go to the safe, unlock the safe, unlock the firearm and then go to another room to get ammunition these are a series of steps that slow you down and give you a little more time to reflect.
In some ways, even more importantly, it means that kids can't easily access the firearms. Even if you don't have kids, kids do stupid things: they break into cars or break into homes.. Even if you trust your kid, your kids has friends and so on.
Yes, if someone breaks into your house in Canada it will take you an extra minute to go to your safe, unlock it and get your gun and load it. If you have firearms, you should be practicing, and if you're practicing it only takes a minute. Statistically speaking, if I recall correctly, you are far more likely to shoot yourself with your own firearm than have to use it in self defense. That extra minute is much more likely to save your life, if you happen to find yourself having a bad moment. If you are reading this and saying something like: "No way. I have never had such a bad moment" then I think good for you: you must have lived a very lucky life, and really I think it would be very wise to tack a "yet" onto the end of that sentence.
