The premise of a warrant canary seems to be that while a court (or the DoJ in a NSL) can order information not to be disclosed, they can't order someone to lie to the public.

What is the legal basis by which it would be impermissible for a court to just order Reddit or any other recipient of such a gag order to affirmatively lie about it?

How do you feel about body cameras of the type which the NYPD is now going to be required to wear in some precincts?

Thanks for the answer! Any updates as to the status/disposition of that Twitter lawsuit?

Do you exclusively handle cases arising out of public universities? It would seem like the legal leeway to regulate speech arising at private universities would be far greater than at public ones.

Jameel,

Do you think that, if section 215 were extended, the FISA court would take notice of the recent 2nd circuit ruling and possibly not reauthorize new secondary orders / issue a new primary order?
